The sunshine island of Sardinia lies 120 miles off the west coast of mainland Italy and boasts some of the most spectacular and unspoilt coastline in the entire Mediterranean.

Our main partners in Sardinia are based in Orosei and their agency covers a large area along the east coast. Through them we can offer apartments in Siniscola and Orosei, historic houses in beautiful medieval towns, villas at Irgoli and Tortolì, and beach villas just metres from the sea.

The Gulf of Orosei is easily reached by a short drive from the Costa Smeralda International Airport in Olbia, or Fertilia International Airport in Alghero, or from the port of Olbia.

The area presents a breathtaking panorama: small towns nestle between two mountain plateaux and the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the valley of the Cedrino River. The sandy beach, which extends for 70km, is lined with pine trees and typical Mediterranean flora. You can sunbathe and relax in privacy. Further south the Gulf of Orosei expands into one of the most beautiful rocky coastlines in the Med.

Throughout the summer there are festivals, concerts and exhibitions of local art, and visitors cannot help but be impressed by the local food and wines available in the many family-run restaurants.

This east coast area has many attractive town centres, with buildings dating back to the 13th century, old houses with hidden internal gardens and courtyards, and friendly inhabitants.

The surrounding countryside features numerous small villages and medieval towns worth visiting to appreciate their folklore and local products. There is also hillside and mountain trekking for the more adventurous travellers.

The sea around the island teems with fish, while inland the mountains are home to large flocks of sheep that feed on the wild herbs and produce delicious local cheese.

Sardinia is connected to the UK by budget airlines Ryanair, easyJet and ThomsonFly, operating from London Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham, Gatwick, Luton and Dublin. They have made this previously remote territory within easy reach even for a long weekend.
