The Firefly team
The team at Firefly have many years’ experience of the Le Marche property market, both the purchasing process and the business of renovation.
Firefly is run by husband and wife David Eidlestein & Rosie Staal, based primarily in Dorset, England, and quite often in Le Marche, Italy.
We bought a tumbledown farmhouse not far from the regional capital Fermo in southern Marche back in 2001 and went through the entire restoration process, which finished in 2003.
Since then we have added several hectares of surrounding land, including a vineyard, olive grove and meadows all looked after by tenant farmers, who pay us ‘rent’ in olive oil and wine. We also used a local builder to add a terrace.
During the renovation work and the subsequent improvements, we have made some great contacts in the area and are now able to use our experience and knowledge to help steer others in the right direction.
When we ourselves are not in Le Marche, our colleagues who are permanently based there deal with our clients’ needs.
Firefly’s main partners are Giordano Bartolini and Catherine Watson, who live in the beautiful city of Fermo.
Italian-born Giordano and his partner Catherine are both bi-lingual and have an extensive knowledge of the property market in the region.
They also have a broad range of contacts in the building trade, they know their way around the region’s spaghetti of roads and lanes, ancient towns and villages, and most of its wonderful restaurants.
Giordano and Catherine deal with the Firefly properties on our ‘for sale’ pages that have the ‘GC’ suffix attached. They are able to help clients with the whole buying process – from viewing properties, to obtaining a codice fiscale, opening a bank account to finding architects and builders.
For the Firefly properties bearing the ‘MM’ suffix, our property partner in the area is Giovanni Vitali, who has many years of experience in local real estate.
Giovanni, whose wife Alison is English, is also bi-lingual and has an unrivalled depth of knowledge and contacts throughout the southern Marche area. He was born and raised in the region and is a fully qualified registered financial consultant and real estate agent.
